Our Fold’s “She Goes On” makes me want to use all manner of adjectives that aren’t typically a part of my vocabulary – words like “rollicking” and “boisterous”. It’s one of those rare radio-ready indie-rock cuts whose character and dynamism grab you from the get-go and, once done, beg the question: how far can these folks go? That question will be answered in the form of consistency, because a record full of tracks as gripping and downright enjoyable as “She Goes On” will make for a hell of an album; it’s in the same ballpark as every driving, adrenaline-packed song that’s ever defined a whole summer for you. It marries a classic vibe with a fluidity and energy that could (should?) viably take it into public consciousness territory. A stormer.
