The Front Bottoms’ fantastic new record Talon of the Hawk is introduced by the grinning “Au Revoir (Adios)” — but everything kicks into gear on this sublime cut, arguably the album’s best song. “I wanna contribute to the chaos! I don’t wanna watch and then complain!” Brian Sella shouts as the song nears its anthemic climax, and it’s a pretty great way to put the draw. Amid the quips and conviction there’s a whole lot of rough melody to latch onto as the Weakerthans meet folk-punk.
